The death was announced on Friday by the Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Dr. Ameh Williams, in a statement issued on behalf of the local government’s executive council.
Williams described the late councillor, popularly known among colleagues as Hon. Rosella, as a humble, reliable and compassionate leader who consistently sought to make those around her happy.
“It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden demise of our dear sister and colleague, Hon. Mrs Rosemary Aduku, the Honourable Councillor representing the good people of Ogugu Ward 3 in the 8th Olamaboro Legislative Council,” the statement read.

The local government chairman said burial arrangements had been concluded for the same day. Interment took place at 1 p.m. on Friday at her family compound in Ogugu Centre. Members of the All Progressives Congress and the wider community were invited to attend and pay their last respects.
