Frank Edoho Slams Reno Omokri for Praising Government Over Lack of Fuel Queues
Frank Edoho has criticized Reno Omokri for praising the government over what he sees as a basic achievement—no fuel queues during the holiday season.
Reno Omokri took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight what he considered positive developments in Nigeria. He noted that, for the first time, there were no fuel queues or shortages during the holidays, fuel prices had decreased, and Nigeria was exporting refined petroleum products to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He also pointed out that while food prices remain high, food is still available, and the federal government's inter-state public transport service is free during the holiday period. Additionally, he mentioned that the new minimum wage was being paid to federal workers and that there had been no major security incidents outside conflict zones, with figures like Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa in prison. He concluded that while Nigeria might not be perfect, things are slowly improving.
Frank Edoho, however, was unimpressed. The former Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host responded by calling out Reno, saying that in an oil-producing country like Nigeria, the absence of fuel queues should not be celebrated as progress. He stated, "We are so third world that the absence of fuel queues and fuel scarcity in a so-called oil-producing country is regarded as a sign that things are getting better. Reno, please stop."
