Edafe also mentioned that Shimite’s husband is currently under protective custody—not under arrest—after he reported her death and claimed he was being threatened by members of her family. According to him, the husband contacted authorities early in the morning, fearing for his safety due to accusations from Shimite’s relatives.

Following this, Shimite’s family filed an official complaint with the police, expressing concerns that her husband may have been involved in her death.
