Edebiri Temitope
Police in Ogun State have arrested a 43-year-old man, Edebiri Temitope (also referred to as Temitope Adebiri), in connection with the death of his 38-year-old neighbour, Mike Oje (also known as Oje Michael Eje).
The incident occurred on August 26, 2026, at Bluestone Treasure Estate in the Mowe-Ofada area. Oje, a Guidance and Counselling graduate of Benue State University who worked as a housekeeper/caretaker in the estate, was accused by the neighbour of engaging in “rough play” with the man’s three-year-old child.
According to family accounts and police statements, the child approached Oje, who hugged the boy and playfully lifted him into the air. The child’s father later confronted Oje, allegedly slapped him, then grabbed a bamboo stick and struck him repeatedly until he collapsed and died at the scene.
The suspect initially fled with his family but has now been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation into the homicide.
Police confirmed the developments in a statement released to the public. Investigations is still ongoing.
