President Tinubu Outlines Economic Reforms and Security Progress in First Media Chat

President Bola Tinubu has said his government is working to move away from the old financial system known as the "ways and means" model. He explained that his administration is focused on managing money carefully and making sure the country stays financially disciplined.

He also mentioned that Nigeria is earning more money and making sure it’s being shared properly.

He made these comments on Monday evening during his first presidential media chat in Lagos.

Tinubu emphasized that his government is focused on better fiscal management and increasing revenue.

When discussing the fuel subsidy removal, he said he had no regrets about it. He explained that continuing to subsidize fuel was not sustainable, especially because it was affecting not just Nigeria but the whole West African region.

The President also spoke about security improvements, saying that areas that were once dangerous to travel through are now safer. He added that the military is staying alert to protect the country from both internal and external threats.
