Davido: From Studio Stories to Political Heat

 

Davido is in two places at once — the studio and politics.

On August 6, he sat down for a heartfelt interview where he revealed how his childhood friend Lati shaped his music career. "From sneaking into studios to helping me pick beats, Lati was there from day one," Davido said. Fans loved the throwback. It reminded people why OBO’s story feels so personal.

But 24 hours later, Davido switched modes. With the Osun governorship election coming up on August 15, he called out Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma and told him to "let Osun voters choose freely." He even mentioned his wife Chioma’s Imo roots while making the appeal.

That dragged him into a back-and-forth with ex-presidential aide Bashir Ahmad on X. Bashir accused Davido of mixing music with politics. Davido replied with receipts and memes. 

Then Governor Okpebholo of Edo State mocked Adeleke, saying "Get Adeleke ready to become your dancer." Davido didn’t take it lightly. The timeline turned into a full political debate with Afrobeats fans and party supporters clashing.
