LAGOS, Nigeria — Popular Nigerian social media personality and self-styled relationship therapist Nkiru Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has reportedly lost her second son while remaining in detention at Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The development was announced on Friday evening by Amira Agiye (also referred to as Isamira Agiye), chief executive of the Isaamira Love Foundation, who has been involved in efforts to secure Blessing CEO’s release. Agiye confirmed the death of the boy, identified as Bryan, and appealed for public support.
In a voice recording played during the appeal and attributed to Blessing CEO, she said: “My second son, Bryan, was full of life. While in custody, I lost Bryan. I pray this turns out positive so I can leave this place, pick up the pieces of my life and pay my respects to him.”
Some reports linked the death to an asthma attack. No independent official confirmation of the cause of death or further details from authorities or the immediate family had been publicly cited as of Saturday morning.
Blessing CEO is currently remanded over alleged fraud cases involving property transactions. In one matter concerning an alleged ₦69.15 million deal, a Lagos State Special Offences Court granted her ₦20 million bail in July 2026 with two sureties in like sum and additional conditions. She has been unable to meet the requirements and remains in custody. She is also facing other EFCC-related matters, including an earlier alleged ₦36 million case, and has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Agiye stated that approximately ₦20 million is needed to perfect the bail conditions, with a further ₦36 million sought in connection with complainants, bringing the total appeal to around ₦56 million. She urged Nigerians to set aside personal views about the influencer’s legal troubles and show compassion for the family, noting that the child’s body remains in the mortuary.
The report of the loss quickly circulated on social media platforms, including a post by the account @NigeriaStories that shared the news with a photograph of Blessing CEO and described the situation as sad.
Bryan was previously described by his mother as her “2nd seed”; he had celebrated a birthday in 2023. The family has not issued a separate formal statement beyond the comments relayed through Agiye.
