A Woman Accused The APC Of Offering Temporary Solution After Creating Problems For Long

Lagos— A video circulating widely on X has drawn sharp reactions from Nigerians, with a woman accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government of mastering “the art of deception” through temporary relief measures after years of hardship.

In a post shared on Friday, October 9, 2026, by user @ChuksEricE, the woman reacts to the Federal Government’s recently announced 30-day petrol discount at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) filling stations. She argues that authorities created problems by removing the fuel subsidy three years earlier and are now offering short-term solutions only as the 2027 elections approach. She makes a similar point about the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and urges citizens to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and “vote wisely.”

The video, credited to TikTok account secret.life.of.mu3, shows the speaker addressing the camera alongside an image of President Bola Tinubu. She questions why solutions appear only when public pressure mounts and tells viewers that continued deception will leave the country worse off after 2027.

The post itself has recorded thousands of views and hundreds of engagements. Official background shows that Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele announced the discount on or around October 8, describing it as a margin reduction at NNPC Retail outlets (initially linked to Independence Day commemorations) rather than a return of subsidy. NNPC later confirmed a N66-per-litre discount running through at least the end of October, prioritising public transporters and insisting it is funded from the company’s retail margin, not public funds.[](<https://punchng.com/nnpc-extends-n66-petrol-discount-to-october-31-debunks-subsidy-return/>)

Reactions under the X post largely echoed the video’s scepticism. Selected replies include:

- @cueazsHIM: “Same thing happened when new cash came in, but they returned the old one. After the suffering Nigerians went through of cash scarcity. This country is cooked i swear.”

- @willofgodd: “Tinubu knows he is punishing Nigerians deliberately. He is under instructions from UK and France neocolonisers to make Nigeria poorer.”

- @Drzoeoluwatoyin: “They simply want to win the election by all means, so they thought of making life easy small for us.”

- @TrojanLive95: “We are really in a great depression.”

- @JohnAkor21: “We must do everything possible to chase tinubu out of power come 2027.”

- @christybysoul: “They can’t continue to deceive us. Some of us are wiser now.”

- @goddy_daniel: “This government can never be trusted, failed promises. Tinubu even said he will give us steady power but we had the worse power in his regim.”

- @Chukwunons63680: “He created a problem then brought another problem to fix the problem.”

The discussion reflects ongoing public debate over the impact of subsidy removal since 2023 and the timing of temporary relief measures ahead of the next general election cycle. Government officials continue to maintain that the discount is a commercial relief step, not a policy reversal.
