Building Collapse in Lagos Leaves One Dead, Three Seriously Injured

Tragedy struck on Sunday afternoon, May 18, when a one-storey building under construction collapsed at 96 Ishaga Road, right across from the Idi Araba Central Mosque.

According to Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), one person lost their life in the incident. Three others were pulled out alive but with serious injuries. Search and rescue efforts were still ongoing at the time of the statement.

Several emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene, including the Isolo Fire Station, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police.

As of now, the exact cause of the collapse hasn't been determined. Investigations are currently underway.
