Music mogul Don Jazzy recently gave his Instagram followers a good laugh by sharing a comical run-in with a food vendor. The Mavin Records CEO revealed why he's often hesitant to accept freebies, explaining they frequently come with unexpected strings attached.

The Nkwobi Incident

In a video, Don Jazzy recounted how a vendor generously offered him some complimentary Nkwobi, a dish he happily accepted and thoroughly enjoyed. However, the situation took a hilarious turn when the vendor later approached him with a rather audacious request. According to Don Jazzy, the "favor" she wanted in return was the release of one of his top artists, Rema, to her!

The Absurd "Exchange Rate"

Bursting into laughter at the sheer absurdity of it all, Don Jazzy playfully questioned the "exchange rate" of Nkwobi for Rema. He humorously warned his fans to stop offering him gifts, saying, “Okay, guys, we need to talk about this — this is exactly why I don’t like collecting free stuff. You’re selling nkwobi, then out of nowhere you give me free nkwobi. I didn’t ask, but you insisted. I accept it, eat it, and enjoy it. Now suddenly, you want me to return the favour — you’re asking me to give you Rema? Because of free nkwobi? How does that even add up? It’s the exchange rate for me!”
