The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has started the registration for Direct Entry admission in 2026 for people who want to study in higher institutions across the country.
JAMB said that the Direct Entry forms are now available everywhere in the country. The board advised people who are qualified to start their registration early and follow the correct rules.
The registration will last for some weeks. After that time, the registration portal will be closed so the next stage of the admission process can begin.
Direct Entry is for students who already have higher qualifications like Diploma, NCE, IJMB, or similar certificates. These students can gain admission straight into the second year of a university programme without writing the UTME exam.
JAMB also reminded applicants that they must register only at approved registration centres. They must also make sure their personal information, including their National Identity Number (NIN), is correct to avoid being disqualified.
The board warned candidates not to use illegal agents. Only centres approved by JAMB are allowed to carry out the registration.
Now that the registration has started, many students are expected to apply as they prepare for the 2026/2027 academic session.
