Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate and presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for 2027, has invited Nigerians at home and abroad to a virtual townhall focused on safeguarding votes and charting a path to electoral victory.

In a post on X on Friday, Obi said two recurring questions from supporters have dominated his interactions in recent months: how votes will be protected in the 2027 general elections, and how victory can be secured.

In his words: “These are fair questions, and you deserve direct answers,” he wrote. “This Sunday, I will answer you directly, and more importantly, listen to you.”

The event, titled “A New Nigeria Global Digital Townhall,” is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. West Africa Time (WAT/GMT), corresponding to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and 12:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. Attendance requires prior registration.

Obi stressed that the session would not be a one-way address. “This is not only about speaking to you. It is about listening to you. I want to hear your concerns, your insights and your strategies. This movement has always been built by you, and your ideas will shape what we do next,” he said.

He closed the message with the familiar refrain: “A New Nigeria is POSSIBLE. -PO”

The announcement comes as political activities for the 2027 elections continue to gather pace, with questions around electoral integrity remaining a central talking point among opposition figures and their supporters.
